Industrial property under a Guy Government – what would it mean?
With the State Election less than four weeks away the question now arises - What would happen to the industrial property market if Matthew Guy and the Liberal party were to be elected in?
We do know that previously, when he was the Planning Minister, he actively engaged in rezoning. In his speech on Friday 19th of this month at the Property Council of Victoria he hinted at a supply of land being opened up within the current Urban Growth boundary. He would achieve this by fast tracking Precinct Structure Planning on sites that currently do not have them.
He went on to say that the next step would be to look beyond the Urban Growth boundary and put plans in place for the future. This would be good news for an industry that is lacking a supply of readily available industrial land for development.
Business confidence and performance underpins demand in the industrial property sector, would a Guy government bolster business confidence and open up supply at the same time?
