“We have a run a specialist freight and logistics services company in Melbourne’s inner and outer west for close 30 years. After almost three decades of leasing, our last long term lease expired in 2019. We decided the time had come to seriously consider the business case for an industrial property purchase. As a result of record low interest rates, and a buoyant but not (yet) overpriced industrial market the numbers were truly compelling, provided we were able to head a little more to the West than we anticipated. Our interest cost is now one third our previous rental plus outgoings cost. Rutherfords represented the vendors on the industrial property we purchased. This property could probably be best described as “atypical” of the usual stock in the Truganina area in terms of both fitout, and use of the site footprint. Although in some ways it would have been a tough listing, we are grateful that the Rutherfords team, ably lead by Drew Williams, and assisted by Michael Tozer, persisted with the parties and facilitated what has been in the end a great outcome for both vendor and purchaser. We also have to make comment on the regular videos posted by the team on the website which provide market commentary. Guys, these are authentic and very watchable, but most of all your comments on the industrial market are spot on, well done, and look forward to viewing many future episodes!”
